Complete Matriz del Destino Example — Full Reading

Reading a theoretical explanation of how the Matriz del Destino is calculated helps, but nothing makes it clearer than seeing the method applied to a real date, with every step laid out. In this guide, we calculate, number by number, the complete matrix of a person born on May 15, 1990, using exactly the same logic as our calculator.

The example date: May 15, 1990

We’ll work with the date 15/05/1990: day 15, month 5, year 1990. The Matriz del Destino method, developed by Natalia Ladini, reduces each of these values using a single rule: digits are added until reaching a number between 1 and 22. If the sum comes to 22 or less, that number is the final result; only if it exceeds 22 are its digits added again until it drops below that limit. This is the key difference from classic numerology, which always reduces to a single digit (1 through 9): here, the whole system works with 22 arcana, not 9 numbers.

Step 1 — Calculate Point A (day)

Point A represents your personality, the way you present yourself to the world, and is taken directly from your day of birth. Since the day is 15, and 15 already falls within the 1–22 range, nothing needs to be reduced:

A = 15

Arcana 15 corresponds to The Devil in this system’s numbering — an energy tied to attachments, unconscious patterns, and the ability to turn bonds into freedom once they become conscious.

Step 2 — Calculate Point B (month)

Point B represents your natural talents, and is taken directly from your month of birth. Since months run from 1 to 12, they never need reducing: they always fall within the valid range. For this date, the month is May, the fifth month of the year:

B = 5

Arcana 5 corresponds to The Hierophant — an energy associated with teaching, tradition, and passing on knowledge to others.

Step 3 — Calculate Point C (year)

Point C represents your inherited generational energy, and is calculated by adding up all the digits of your year of birth until reaching a number from 1 to 22. For 1990:

1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19

Since 19 already falls within the 1–22 range, that’s the final result: no further reduction is needed.

C = 19

Arcana 19 corresponds to The Sun — vitality, clarity, and a generational energy associated with confidence and expansion.

Step 4 — Calculate Point D (mission)

Point D represents your earthly mission and is obtained by adding the three previous points — A, B, and C — and reducing the result with the same rule:

15 + 5 + 19 = 39

Since 39 exceeds 22, its digits are added again: 3 + 9 = 12. Since 12 already falls within the valid range, that’s the final result:

D = 12

Arcana 12 corresponds to The Hanged Man — an energy tied to viewing life from a different perspective, even when that means pausing or letting go of your usual sense of control.

Step 5 — Calculate Point E (comfort zone / centre)

Point E is the centre of the octagram: your comfort zone, the place you naturally return to when nothing demands conscious effort from you. It’s calculated by adding the four previous points — A, B, C, and D — and reducing the result:

15 + 5 + 19 + 12 = 51

Since 51 exceeds 22, its digits are added: 5 + 1 = 6. Since 6 already falls within the valid range, that’s the final result:

E = 6

Arcana 6 corresponds to The Lovers — an energy centred on conscious choice, bonds, and the balance between heart and reason. In this matrix, 6 is also the central arcana: the one that sums up, in a single image, the result of combining all the previous points.

Interpreting the result

For this example date, the A-B-C-D-E set tells a coherent story: a personality shaped by working with one’s own attachments and patterns (A = The Devil), talents tied to teaching and passing things on (B = The Hierophant), a generational energy of vitality and confidence (C = The Sun), a life mission that invites looking at things from angles other than the conventional ones (D = The Hanged Man), and a comfort zone centred on bonds and decisions made with the heart (E = The Lovers, also the central arcana of the entire matrix).

None of these arcana is read in isolation: the key to a good interpretation is seeing how they speak to each other. In this case, for example, it makes sense that a person with a talent for teaching (B) would find their comfort zone in genuine bonds (E), and that their life mission (D) would have to do with offering a different perspective to those around them.
