The Matriz del Destino — also known as the soul matrix, soul map, or karmic matrix — is a self-knowledge system that turns your date of birth into a symbolic map of your personality, talents, relationships, and life purpose. Rather than reducing everything to a single “life number,” as much of classic numerology does, Ladini proposed building a complete diagram — the octagram — where each zone represents a different dimension of existence: character, inherited talents, vocation, your relationship with money, family and romantic relationships, and even the patterns we carry from previous generations.

Numerology, tarot, and chakras: the method’s three roots

The Matriz del Destino doesn’t invent its own symbolism from scratch: it borrows from three already-established traditions and combines them into a single structure.

From numerology it takes the logic of reduction: any number greater than 22 is reduced by adding its digits until reaching a value between 1 and 22. From the 22 major arcana of the tarot it takes its symbolic “alphabet”: each of the 22 possible positions in your matrix corresponds to the energy of a specific card, from The Magician to The Fool. And from the chakra tradition it takes the idea that there are different energy centres in the body, each associated with a particular aspect of human experience — the physical, the emotional, the energetic.

The result is a hybrid system: neither a traditional tarot reading nor an isolated numerology chart, but a map where both languages intersect to describe a person in far more detail than either could alone.

How your octagram is built

The octagram — the eight-pointed star you’ll see when you calculate your matrix — is formed from two overlapping squares. The first, the central square, is built directly from your day, month, and year of birth, and from it emerge your personality (Point A), your talents (Point B), the generational energy you inherit (Point C), and your earthly mission (Point D). The sum of these four values gives you your Point E, also called the comfort zone: the central arcana of your entire matrix.

The second square, called the ancestral or diagonal square, is built by combining the values of the first and adds a layer of energy inherited from your family history.
