It’s not one single number: it’s four layers

Your matrix calculates a personal purpose, a social purpose, a general purpose, and a planetary purpose. Each answers a different question: what you need to resolve for yourself, how you connect with your close environment, what kind of broader contribution you’re called to make, and what your contribution is to something even greater. Reading them in that order — from the inside out — tends to be far more revealing than starting with the most abstract one.

For example, if your personal purpose corresponds to Arcana 1: The Magician, your task is likely to learn how to turn ideas into reality instead of scattering your energy across too many projects at once; if instead you got Arcana 9: The Hermit, your purpose is more likely about meeting yourself before fully engaging with others.

Why it’s best to start with your personal purpose

It’s tempting to want to jump straight to the “planetary purpose” because it sounds grander, but in practice it’s the one that offers the least day-to-day guidance. Your personal purpose, on the other hand, tends to point to something very concrete that you need to work on or heal within yourself before you can sustain any broader purpose. It’s the foundation the rest is built on.

Purpose isn’t the same as “the perfect career”

A common mistake is expecting your personal purpose to point to a specific profession. It usually doesn’t work that way: it describes more of an energy or a quality you need to develop — for example, learning to trust your intuition, or to hold calm leadership — and that energy can express itself through dozens of different professions. That’s why interpreting your purpose together with your Point D (your earthly mission) tends to give a much more useful reading than looking at either one on its own.
